The Turkish Cosmetics and Cleaning Products Sector has doubled the Global Growth
With a market share of TRY 26.4 billion, Cosmetics, Personal Care, Home Care and Detergent industry, is growing 10 percent each year, depending on economic developments in Turkey. The sector, which exports to 180 countries, employs 120 thousand people.
Stating that the young population, the passion of women to look young and beautiful, the increase in the interest in male care products, a segment that is on the rise and the awareness raising all over the world, the development of e-commerce and the private label products are among the factors that brought growth to the sector, Artkim General Manager Cengiz Yaman said, “According to the latest data of the TOBB Cosmetics and Cleaning Products Industry Assembly of Turkey the cosmetics sector has a market share of TRY 9.4 billion, the cleaning products sector a market share of TRY 8.7 billion and the hygienic paper sector a market share of TRY 8.3 billion, comprising a total market share of TRY 26.4 billion. The sector exports to more than 180 countries, especially Iraq, Iran, Russian Federation, Germany and France. More than 120 thousand people are employed at 220 thousand sales points and around 5 thousand companies.”
The turnover reached TRY 50 billion on the private label product market
Stating that exhibitors and visitors from the target markets of the sector are preparing to meet at the 4th International Cosmetics & Personal Care, Detergent and Home Care Ingredients, Raw Materials and Technologies Fair (Cosmetics & Home Care Ingredients 2019) held at Istanbul Expo Center between October 24-26, 2019, Yaman said that the sector is very open to development, and that for example, the market for private label products, which are mostly sold in high discount markets, has in general reached a turnover of TRY 50 billion.

The chemical industry has managed to rank 2nd in seven consecutive months in 2019. In July, USD 1.741 billion dollars of chemical exports were realized, which corresponds to an increase of 17.7 percent compared to the same month of the previous year. Exports rose above USD 11.7 billion in the first 7 months of 2019. Stating that the cosmetics and cleaning products sector in Turkey has doubled the global growth rate and that Turkey has turned into a production center, Cengiz Yaman said that Cosmetics & Home Care Ingredients 2019 is a very important platform to cover the purchase of chemicals, raw materials, ingredients and related technology required by the industry. More than 150 exhibitors and over 4 thousand visitors from more than 20 countries, especially Iran, Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Iraq, Russia, France, Italy, Tunisia, Ukraine and Azerbaijan, are expected to attend the Exhibition, which will be held on an area of 3 thousand m2.
Latest technological developments, trends and projects related to the sector will be introduced
